Mr. Manzoor Hossain Khan , an eminent Industrial Engineer of Bangladesh was born on June 1, 1929. Son of Late Sakhawat Hossain Khan , (A prctictising advocate in the Rangoon Court and A one time mayor of Rangoon city in the year 1935) and Late Rausan Akhter Khanum daughter of Late Muhammad Israil Khan also a practising advocate in the Rangoon High Court. He having M.sc. in Engineering also obtained L.L.B from Dhaka University , the Oxford of the east in 1978.

Mr. Khan had his early education in Burma and passed school final examination from Calcutta University. He studied for his bachelor degree in Mathematics with Honors from famous Presidency collage , West Bengal , India upto 1946 and M.sc. Engineering ( Mechanical)  from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1978. His thirst for higher education knows no bounds .He even took his exams in Bachelor in Law in the same year from Central Law College , Bangladesh and completed Advocate ship in 1989.

Being himself a Mechanical Engineer , Mr. Khan is also a Linguist. He knows as many as Nine(9) language such as  English, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi, Italian, Persian, Japanese and Burmese as well. He can read , write and speak all the languages with good and fair amount of proficiency.

    In his professional career, he has had unique opportunity to work in England , Pakistan and Japan ; not to speak of his own country in different organizations in the capacity of technical advisor and teacher . His knowledge and skills have helped him to have the rare opportunity to have worked as a Guest Speaker at Bangladesh Management Development Center , presently known as BIM ; part time teacher of BUET(Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology) . He was examiner of Industrial and labour law , University of Dhaka. All these teaching and allied positions date back to 1966, which continued till 1994.

In his own profession , he began his career as Asst. Manager , Pakistan Ordinance Factory . As an Asst. Manager , his job was to plan , progress and monitor the all engineering shops in the factory. He worked there from 1955 to 1959. Then he switched over to work in the famous Japanese firm “KOBE STEEL WORKS,LTD.” In Japan and got advanced training in Mechanical and Electrical works for Operation and Handling of Fertilizer manufacturing and operation and assembling of compressors and various other machinery. This assignment of his , continued till 1960.

His knowledge and experiences have helped him to become Chief of Maintenance  , Natural Gas Fertilizer factory , Bangladesh . There he worked till 1965. Practical experiences gathered  from Pakistan Ordinance  Factory , Kobe Steel Ltd. and lastly chief of Maintenance , Natural Gas fertilizer factory enthused him to set up a firm of Mechanical Construction in 1965 and offered consultancy services to  Government, semi-Government , private enterprises of the country.

Beside his professional proficiencies he has a culture bent towards literature. He is a prolific writer and a free lancer . His pursuit towards religious activities is notable. He is associated with a number of social-cultural organizations . He is currently holding the post of Vice – President of The famous Gulshan Central Mosque of Dhaka .  Happily married, he at present is living at Gulshan , Dhaka with his Wife , Daughters , son and grand son and grand daughter around him . He can be better described as a bearded holy man , who at the age of 80 years, spend his time in religious pursuit .A soft spoken man by nature , attracts people by his modest and humble behavior , which is simply unique.
